Got this inkl'in, that the problem is going to end up in the ECU.  Yes the floor mats can and probably have done some stuck accellerator pedals.  I even had that happen with my 95 Nissan Maxima.........The floor mat got pushed forward too much and when I pressed the loud pedal it didn't come back..

If people would only just turn off the ignition key under these situations, but I do know that sudden accelleration could create a panic-state where it's difficult to think clearly in a nano-second.

My vote is for the ECU...........Somewhere in it's innards, there's a little sometimes circuit that shorts, and bingo..........your electronic throttle has a mind of it's own.

I'm sure it could be easily solved with the addition of a proper cable to the throttle body and a return spring.

Now, people who have had their cars "fixed" under the recall are complaining that their cars are STILL running wild!   :o  Except now, instead of complaining that they won't slow down, they say they have come under the spell of the Sudden Unintended Acceleration monster. Can you say "death car" boys and girls?
