Title: Nice car renderings
Post by: @re on December 03, 2007, 06:55:08 PM
I don't think I've seen this one before. Does anybody else know anything about it - is it a real car or just a well-done rendering?

I´ve filed this pic in my Vector file before, but of course, it´s not one.

I think it´s "just" a computer-rendering, but maybe someone knows more...

It is just a 3D rendering. Look at the tyres, they are not inflated by the weight of the car. Look at the reflection of right hand side wheel in the ground, there is not any suspension details that connects the wheel to the car, propabably the 3D model is just hollow.

You're probably completely right about that - I didn't notice those details, and have never thought that that could give it away as a 'fake'. Still, it's a nice piece of work - and I'll agree it's quite Vector-like, especially the rear wing.

Edit: I thought this could be a nice place for this post, as it is just a rendering and no real puzzle. Maybe somebody else has seen a real nice 3D rendering somewhere that could be worth sharing?

I stumbled across these, apparently published in the French 'Automoto' magazine as a design proposal for a 2012 Citroen C6. I must say that I think they're nice - in a kind of a retro-nostalgic kind of way :)

In case you haven't seen this one, I just want to share it with you:

The Benchmark Ford Escort Mk-I Concept, by Rajesh Kutty.

If this was Ford's next retro car, I'd start saving. Nice work!

Presenting the Voisin Concept by Portuguese design studio LusoMotors. Nice one, though I don't quite see the link to the fabulous, classic Voisin designs. Apparently, the company are planning a full-scale model, and the car is supposed to be a Bugatti Veyron rival. Interesting.

On another note, I'll be getting around to publishing some nice pics from Geneva soon. I actually managed to get into the Veyron, would you believe it? When you sit in the front seat, three enormous dials are located right in front of you: The rev counter in the middle, the speedometer (which goes to 420 kph) to the right... and the hp-meter to the left, which counts 700... 800... 900... 1001! :)

How about this for a future Aston supercar?

The problem with all these new cars, you can't get in without knocking your hat off.
