Very sad news this morning as Sir Stirling Moss - one of the most iconic figures in the history of motor sport, with 212 wins from 529 races - passed away in the early hours of Easter Sunday.

I was highly privileged to get to know Stirling and his lovely wife Susie very well in his later life, working closely with him at Goodwood. One of the most talented racing drivers of all time, and the greatest never to win a Formula 1 Championship title, Sir Stirling was an exceptional talent that will be greatly missed.

Rest In Peace Stirling, and I hope you find plenty of crumpet to keep you distracted wherever you might be.

It's very sad indeed to have lost Sir Stirling.
I too knew him a little, as my TVR was rebuilt by his former racing mechanic, who still looked after his collection of classic racers until he gave them up when he stopped using them, and he was a frequent visitor.
He was not just a brilliant racer but also a very kind and genuine person, full of good stories and a thorough gentleman.
They just don't make them like him any more.
But it was a privilege to know him.
