Simple questions:
When/Where was the first time you drove?
What did you drive?

For me:
August 1988, Holsopple PA
1979 Blazer (2-tone red/white)

While I was visiting my Aunt Thelma and Uncle Glen for a couple weeks, my Uncle Glen (who died 10 years later, the day the loan for my 1976 Monte Carlo was approved) took me with to do some errands.  On the way back, instead of pulling into their driveway, he turned into the grassy field across the street, parked the Blazer and asked me if I wanted to drive.  Naturally, I did.  After that, my parents allowed me to move their '81 MC SC (now mine) out of the garage whenever we took that car.

That awakens old memories.

I was ca.10 years old and a frind of mine was the son of a local car dealer.

In the large backyard there was an old and rusty rear-engined Simca 1000 that was supposed to be wrecked some days later.

So we young boys were allowed to drive this around the scrapyard and I can tell you - we did drive it!

The race didn´t last very long, because after a big jump over a pitch the gearbox was damaged and we weren´t ablo to drive anymore.

But it was tons of fun, I can tell you.
It still brings a big smile to my face  ;D

Oh....SWEET!  How cool is that?!

Glad you all shared some stories!  I still think I was born in the wrong decade...lol.

First time operating the car fully I was nine in a sand pit with a '67 SAAB 96 3cyl 2-stroke.

By the time I was 5 I was steering on my dad's lap everywhere I went with him. Firstly in our '62 Valiant.

My first post too, LOVE this site!!!!

Gee, you lot did start driving early ;)

The first time my dad allowed me to drive was when I was 17 and was about to start a driving licence course. We went to a rarely used wide concrete road a few kms from our house, that was designed as an emergency landing strip for military airplanes. Thanks to that I was one of the few people at the course who had any previous experience behind the wheel :P

Oh, it was a 1999 Peugeot 306 Husky 5-door hatchback.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Thank you for the nice welcome, guys!

I thought I knew European vehicles, but after looking over this site, I most assuredly do NOT!
Not like you all anyway.
I'm looking forward to learning a lot here, even if I don't even solve one lousy puzzle!  :)

My first car was not glamorous.

A Subaru Justy with a Variomatic. It might not set the world alight, but it was reliable transport.
