I don't use my real name online for security reasons. One being that I have a rather unique last name. With that, I estimate that probably 90%or more of people with the same last name is a relative. In fact, you drop the last letter and odds are still pretty good that they are related (more distant). When I was 6, my mother moved me to TX from IL, where the entirety of my know family existed. I recently learned that there is another section of the family that moved to East TX several decades ago.

Google has this cool program that scours news articles looking for keywords you assign and then sends you links to the articles (probably available elsewhere, but this is the one I know of). I have my last name programmed into this and received a rather disturbing news article yesterday, and several more today.

I really wish I could say with some confidence, "This jerk off is no relation to me!!!" Granted, if he is it is probably something like 5th or 6th cousins or more, but still, that seems too close!

If I found out anyone I knew was doing that, I'd probably be looking at prison time.

I'd be finding a lawyer that was good a "good samaritan" defense!

The more sadistic side of me says someone needs to do to him what he wanted to do to the little girl (proportionally, of course)...I guess it will happen in prison, to some degree!

The curse of a distinctive name. I've got the same problem, luckily most of my 'relatives' have kept a clean nose. On occasion, I'll stumble across my name in somewhere that is completely unexpected. National Geographic, the credits for Rock'n'Roll circus with the Rolling Stones ("Hey Daddy! That's YOUR NAME!"). Other 'relatives' (I'm assuming) do things like discover Herod's tomb and other such nonsense.

So I've got that going for me.
Measures with mics, marks with chalk, cuts with axe, beats to fit and paints to match
