"An Insomniac's Prayer"

A dark and dreary full moon's eve, 'twas I a creature of the night. Now the black births it's own creature. Alas, for it is upon me that it has berthed.

"Forsooth," I swear aloud to the witches of the hour, "As the Phoenix before me, with dawn I shall rise. In body, and in spirit."

'Tis the time till then. 'Tis always, and in all ways, the time till then...

Held back the garrote, seized pen, he wrote.
Within the maze, empty the days.
Nary a link, another rat fink.
Still waters, alone, chilled to the bone.

Exit is sought, perish the fraught.
Dwindle the fear, end it is near.
Weather is foul, soul a howl
Hollow me out, empty the doubt.

A door is closed. The handle is broken.
You wait for someone the other side to open.

While you stand you momentarily ponder.
What could be over yonder.

Yet you know, in just a beat.
Your's is just to take a seat.

To observe and watch as others try.
Leaving you to wonder why.

Another day, to be productive?
Again reject, the self destructive. Tomorrow comes, it will not wait. That's okay, I'll make it a date.

If you and your brood get in a mood, tis a good day to explore the pathway. The park is ready, the lake is blue. The freighter hovers in idyllic view.

So get a traveling, take the road. Or I'll keep harassing, check, I'll even goad. Now get a moving, giddy up, the sun is shining, time to sup.

C'mon down the food is hot. Ice cream's cold, waiting to be sold. Bring your appetite, have a treat. It's high noon, time to eat!

Nights are empty. Days are full.
To the left, to the right, I feel the pull.

Talk and listen all thru the light.
No conversation in the night.

Where once it was all I knew.
Now I'm left a wee bit blue.

Yet tomorrow is another day.
Through it all, I find my way.

Forged in the fires that fuel the fears of fools.

Another one up. Another one down.
Welcome to the merry go round.
The pressure rises, inhibitions fall.
Put this plane into a stall.

Testing fortitude, misplaced will.
Another sip of this swill.
What is left? Where'd it go?
Answers come, yet you never know.

I am the dragon. I am everywhere and nowhere at once. I exist both within and without. When you see, I am there. Where you look, I have vanished. When you know me, you know.

Poisoned eve, shining night. Forever burning black and bright. From within the night doth shine. Illuminate in its heady brine.

In the dark I welcome the traveler. Lost upon an ocean of yearn. Within the night I feel the urge. A lonely path I shall burn.

As the swirling comes to rest, the storm of desire upon my chest, unto the day I set my sight. If only I survive this night.

Prose. Just under my nose. Fails, he knows. Yet tales he grows.

In the dark, fires alight. In the night, fears afright. In the black, from bone it seep. To the core, soul doth weep.

To dance with the devil in the pale moon light. If only he'd follow the tune I write, perhaps we'd not need the night.

I drown in the light others use to sight their way.

In the dark I thrive, alive, with fire. Gusto and desire driving ever into the night

For who shall light this dusky path 'less first I forge it through shadow and shade?

Eyes like pools of oil. Showing an almost dark rainbow of purples and orange. Each color and shade symbolizing another layer of the person they desperately try to hide.

I cannot free you from a prison of your own making. I can only tempt you to release yourself.

When yelling into the void, one shouldn't expect an echo.

Fulcrum. I. Pivot, why?
Order neither in, yet never out.

The weight of the world rests upon thee, to carry on, we, effortlessly?

All doth teeter on the delta. Razor's edge, slicing, sharply dicing.

Bleed it not, yet ever dread.
Scales of wonder, never said.

Day or night, steps alight. Set the balance point to right.

Around me, all, it's a swirl. Twirl thine head, mind in dread.

Never curl up out of bed.

Fulcrum. I. Till I die.

In your voice, a tremor, a tenor of discontent. In your day, in your way, perish the quiver of weariness, the shiver of unhappiness. Let the warmth shine in your ears, the scents of lilacs fill your eyes, and a fingers touch guide your sighs.

Mood is to shirt as smile is to dirt. Tasks stack, overwhelming attack, never a moment in the sack.

Another day, another way, sun and light, no more to say.

Strength, yet weakness, through the filament that exists between, through the ether and around the elemental.

Tis a multistage affair. With trips and traps designed to ensnare. Unfair. With no sure way from here to there.

Psychic wounds. Pound the soul. Fragile heart. Tragic road.

Bow to me. Show no contempt. Submit with smile. Tears not wept.

Fractured being. Partial one. All yearnings. Ne'er undone.

Chiseled cut of roughest stone. Polished fine, a shine, a hone. Within the earth the gem yields forth. Tending to its mighty hearth.

Emerald green, within it glows. To look within ones heart does slow.  The urge to grasp within does take, if only a moments mine I make.

Tentative is her true heart.  Doubts and fears gnaw from within as her duality stokes a paralysis of feeling. The urge to purge of question and feel the answers flow into and upon her, overtaking and filling her senses. She will drink from the cup. She will feel its essence from within and bond eternally with the beast. Drawing upon its power to enrich and nourish her own.

New Moon hints uncertainties
Still air settling in an unsteady gait
Seas I've sailed, a sailor I am
The water my provider, guider, and depth finder
Always there
Cleansing sins, baptizing souls
Giving its healing bounty
Springs ever rising from the bowels of mother earth
Nourishing all her children
Always there to receive them and give them sustenance
The playground of all that sustains
Under Sun and Moon, surrounded by the Waters.
Your Mother Earth speaks to you.
Can you hear?
Do you listen?
The church you walk away from
Never walks away from you

Go. Begone. Just go away. He cried out to no one, as no one was the only listener, yet again. But no one wasn't leaving. No one was hanging around, impersonating someone. Someone interesting and attractive. Engaging and fun. Someone you've been wanting to spend time with. But you can't. It was all just an act. Someone wasn't here to see you. It was no one all along.

Externally, all is right with me

Night fades into light

To turn within this light

The miracle yet undone

Dragon am I
Everywhere I fly
Nowhere I'm found
Ever unbound
Without and within
Exist as if twin
See me there

Pox is upon thee
Can't shrug it off
Sickness it fills me

Inspiration is sought
Inwards I peek
Motivation bought
Yet still to seek

The task it is done
The work never ends

Frontiers I explore
Looking around

Ever unbound

End, it comes for me
Avoid at all cost
It's right behind me
Never to be lost

One step ahead

My final bed?

Isn't it amazing that everyone is looking for the same things and yet hardly any of us ever find what we seek?

Living near where your family is buried. That's roots! There you stand with part of your tree in the ground.

Cars may come, cars may go. A loudness there you'll never know.

Dropped within, tucked inside. This is the end of the ride.

Now I come. Pay respect.
Pause a moment and reflect

My day will come, rain or snow.
How many more, ne'er to know.

Magic is knowing the right thing to do at the right time.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Somewhere you know really well or somewhere you've never been before?

I would go into a lucid dream, where each and everyplace I went was new and exciting, yet, somehow, oddly familiar. Like pathways traveled as a child. Long forgotten yet as known to you as the lines in the palm of your hand.

And in this lucid state I would take you, amazed at this wonderful new world and yet, also, oddly familiar and comfortable. A trail traveled many times in conversations and spiritual meanderings.

Alas, a voice calls to you from beyond. Slowly thrumming away. This too is yet familiar path. Don't listen, you've been this way before...

Is there anywhere one hasn't been when one dreams a lucid dream?

What we have here is a failure to communicate. 
It's my fault.
The only change I can control is my own.

Empathetic over pathetic.
Teamwork
Everyone working together.
Harmony
A symphony
A cacophony of voices
Admiring glances
Memories harken
Binds and bonds anew
Every moments failure
Opportunity births in you
If only I could hear

Just might be someone worth winning tonight.

Epiphany. The end of old beginnings and the beginning of new endings.
