HEY!  I'M BUSY HERE, ALRIGHT?!!! >:(

MG

C'mon Rich. You can only work so many hours in a day, man. That's what "downsizing" is all about!    ;D

If it makes any difference to anbody, I am going to Indy in June and the likelihood of making two trips in one month is remote. I still DO have to make a living......unfortunately.

Just a thought.   ;)

Soo...you're not coming on the ride?

Thought I'd written that earlier, maybe not:

June 28th is when we're leaving (believe it's a Friday...no calendar in front of me...coming back on the Monday following).

MG

Wait. Is this a 4 day thing or a a 10 day thing? I might have to bring an extra pair of socks in my guitar case if its going to be longer..... ;)

Four day...I can't afford much more time off than that either.... :-\

I don't know if I can afford 10 days off.  It will take me 10 days to do that trip, at least.

Are you SURE the Black Hills can't be some sort of compromise?

Yup...sorry...but, not the end of the world, guys....I may be coming home next summer for the "Devils Run," a rally in my hometown in NoDak that's getting to be larger and larger and is around Memorial Day....

I haven't said no, yet.  I am just trying to envision it alone, there and back, and away from my dog and restaurant for that long with no one to take care of either one.

I am probably not going to make it unless something changes on this end.

No worries, C....I was concerned this might be the case in the beginning and wholly appreciated your willingness to make the effort.   :)  I would predict our friendship will last through this year (of transition and time-limits for me as well) and there will be more highways to travel in the near future...I'm truly thinking of taking the Sturgis plunge this next year as well....

If I take a ride to Deadwood this August on a weekend, and I might if I can get the seat comfortable enough to do 800 miles a day, I will pressurize you with great fervor to take a long ride and meet up with me for an overnighter.

IMO, you'd be a fool to ride all the way out to the Black Hills and stop there when the Rockies are only another day's ride away.

Which is two days, minimum, if you consider the return trip.  Any negative weather could easily extend that even further.  How many miles have you put in on a motorcycle seat in a day?

I have seen the Rockies.  Torturing myself, my business, and my dog is a steep price to see them again.

Wow, this whole thing really fell apart in a hurry.

MG

Nope. I want to see Montana. And I want to spend some time getting acquainted with Rich. I think there is some middle ground here. Let's think positive.     ;D

Still want to see the Black Hills, I do.  Now, I have a comfortable bike to get me there.

I had to look, hadn't I. And now I have to write something, just because I looked.

Anyway - Ultra: What kind of a restaurant? I'm a food fan :)

I own a pizzeria in Hillman Michigan.  My mother owned a restaurant and pizzeria when I was a young fella.  I have owned 3 pizzerias at one time and did wholesale sandwich distribution to over 70 gas stations throughout Northern Michigan.  I found it to be too much work for too little reward so I downsized back to my original restaurant.    I also have worked at Sysco Food Services and Gordon Food Service - wholesale food distributors -  for a total of eight years.

I am a foodie.   ;D
