spotted these neat trucks the other day. Two Internationals and rare Mercury in the middle.

There was another three behind there too. Our climate has been described as a desert where it snows. Small town cars don't have much of a problem with rusting. The big cities have only recently started to salt the roads (salt doesn't seem to do much though - gravel is more effective for our snow).

Lots of trucks around here in redneck country especially on farms and such. People just leave them by the barn when they get a new one. You can see whole history of truck family ownership in one spot.

I noticed that one of the hottest items at the recent auction of Steve McQueen's memorabilia was the late 50's pickup he tooled around Hollywoodland in when he decided to take four instead of two wheels....While I dig the utility combined with the relative luxury of my wife's Titan, I have fond memories of my uncle's old GMC and Chevy trucks....no carpets, steel dash, roller windows/vents, and this gearshift that seemed to be around five feet tall sticking out of the floor....

old trucks also a lot easier to restore. And no one minds if its numbers matching, modified a bit and all that - unlike muscle cars and such.

I wouldn't mind something like this to fix up assuming infinite money, time and garage space ...
