My son's truck needs a transmission rebuild.  $1600.00.  Merry Christmas!

Dan

OOF!  Guess I can thank God my kids aren't driving yet....

Also, it always seems that s(#_) happens around the holidays, or tax season....

Saw that a '71 MGB sold for over 18K at auction....hmmmm......

One nice surprise this Season...went to a local racing memorabilia store tonight  and found a diecast 1/24 scale #10 Valvoline Pontiac driven by Johnny Benson for 3 bucks!  Thought it was a mistake until the store owner pointed out that it needed a windshield[he just happenned to have it behind the counter].  I superglued it together, and put it on my DVD cabinet.  it's a really neat piece, the hood opens and the front wheels steer.  It isn't one of those 10 buck cheapies you see at Wal-Mart...no box, but who cares?  It's a display model.

Now, if only trannies were so easy to come by...

Brazil has some great trannies I hear.
Measures with mics, marks with chalk, cuts with axe, beats to fit and paints to match

No kidding....every year I vow to not wait and get all my shopping done early....never happens....going to go out and brave it today.....

On the bright side, my kid's Christmas play is tonight; bought a new hard-drive camcorder/still camera to record the event...hard to believe he's eight.....where DOES the time go?

I think the same thing while talking to the young professional woman who was once the newborn daughter I held in the delivery room, and how I have to keep reminding myself that my youngest daughter is not a 'bother', no matter how tired or cranky I am.

The joy of seeing children grow up is all to fleeting.

my little ones are almost 5 and 3 now  :o

Tifosi

No matter how devilish mine were when they were little, they always looked like little angels when they were asleep, which was never often enough...

Me, either...this might just be a good Christmas after all, though... my best friend's wife got some very good news this week.  Evidently, the cancer was either misdiagnosed[which seems unlikely, given the level of expertise of the doctors involved...], or there was a Christmas Miracle; because the biopsy  showed the tumor to be benign...no cancer at all.  They still need to run some tests to determine just what happenned, but it evidently isn't cancer, at least not at this point.

They went to the hospital expecting the first round of chemotherapy, only to find out she didn't need any.  So, they went to Friday's instead.

Sometimes, IMO, miracles do happen....

Tifosi

Yes, they do, and this is the season for them.  Thanks, everybody, for all the support and kind words.
