I've seen them many times and each time was like the first in terms of its impact and grandeur..unlike many other experiences I've had in my life........

Boxer and yourself, building the anticipation.

Re- getting some higher speeds out of your Shadow....in this month's Cycle World, there's a tech question about same, and the eds comment that a tested Shadow ('83 I believe) topped out at around 105.  Know you spoke earlier re- yours getting short of breath at superslab speeds......has something to do w/ loss of compression etc.....

Bike has only got around 11,000 miles on it.

It will be in the shop in the spring.  We will see what they say.   I am hoping they can help me get a little more umph out of it.

Compression issues would be strange w/ such low miles, but it certainly wouldn't be unheard of, particularly for a V-twin....some people actually abuse their machines, donchyaknow.......

Ultra

Could be quite a few things.  We will see.

You know, every time I'm in the state of Idaho, I'm pleasantly surprised. Good scenery, friendly locals (just don't get into a political discussion with one of them), wide open spaces. Not a bad place to be. I'm actually only about 25 miles as the crow flies from the Land Of Potatoes.

I like the Rockies, but I prefer the Smokies...especially the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.

For me, it's gotta be the real mountains. Kamloops, Banff.........beyond belief, and well beyond my ability to describe. This picture relays about 1/1,000,000 of what the senses take in.

And the water really is that color.

You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Rich

I hear Banff is a great place to bike through......

Looks the same as MY lake ----- without all the mountains blotting out the view.    ;D
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away!

S'my understanding that Blueberry Pointe is the proposed site of the '07 Middle-Age Biker Club Rally....

MG

Yup. Gonna sit around, shear some sheep, rope some goats, talk about knuckleheads, shovelheads, flatheads, soreheads and shitheads!  Gonna be a blast!     :lmao:

I am wounded, sir! Deeply and... oh wait, you mentioned shitheads! Close enough!

I'm good.

6,000 miles on the bike when I bought it.

It better not have weak compression!

Really odd then that you can't get more high end out of it....talked to another biker bud of mine, one with MUCH more wrenching experience than myself on sickles...he agrees that something must be up...hard to tell w/o the bike in front of him, though....

Does it go "kapockita POW, kapockita POW, puckita puckita puckita (cough) POW?"

Ultra

I think it runs quite smooth.

Perhaps exhaust blockage is causing too much back pressure at high rev's.  I will start to pursue in-depth answers at the Honda Shadow forum also.

The scenery in Glacier is very, very similar to Banff. Makes sense, since they're only 150 miles apart.

I've been to Banff twice, and it's been so rainy both times that I've barely been able to see a thing.

Ultra

150 miles is a tank of gas for me.  Bike gets 60 miles to a gallon.

Yaknow, in all seriousness, that's really pretty impressive, C...the DeLuxe only gets around 45 on the highway.....

Or "chitty-chitty -bang-bang"...as long as it doesn't go "kapockita, POW, kapockita...QUEEEEPPP!!!"
