They were talking about this on TV the other day and they mentioned several countries, but I only remember Italy and Spain. They all have similar policies of, it doesn't matter, they are treated like anyone else.

The Roman centurions had young boys as consorts. Get over it.  Sheesh.......

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying, and I will be the first to admitt, that I used to see the homosexual act as something of greater accurse than when a person breaks their marriage vows and seeks out sexual favors not with their spouse.  I realize that these situations are not cut and dry, and there are many extenuating circumstances.  Note Again:  I said I used to think the above way about homosexual conduct concerning the sexual component of their relationships

I think it is admirable to face up to your faults and try to be a better man.  Good on you for trying and thanks for sharing.

In Holland too there's no official problem with gays in the military. On the contrary, if somebody would make a problem of this issue he'll be prosecuted... Of course there's sort of a macho culture in the army, but many are openly gay, some even participate (in uniform) at gay parades (though the right wing Minister of Defence has got some problems with that) and there's an action group for gays in the military, with some high staff members active in this.
One of my friends was professor at the military university, and as a result he got the title of a General; he's been active in this group as well.

BTW in ancient Greece some armies had only gay soldiers, because they thought that sex betzeen these guys would strengthen their solidarity, and hence this would make them a better, stronger army with more solidarity...

This whole deal seems lame, yet I'm NOT surprised that our esteemed MG would Once again bring the question up. ???

As "red necked" as I am, I've never had a problem with the gay's, military, police, firemen, postal workers, auto tech's, or what ever.  WHY is it so important to some, to keep bringing the subject up?

Give it a fucking rest, and the "problem" will go away......... >:(

I am glad to see, that the goverment as banished the whole bull shit language, that was in place regarding the "rules of engagement".

Good job on THAT. ;D
