The object of this game is to stump me with a 'Name That Car' puzzle. Post a car pic, and I will name it within three days. If you stump me, our friend Roo will award you a new diamond encrusted Corvair Throttle Return Spring!

One puzzle at a time, please - I have a day job, after all.  ;D

Alrighty... I'm gonna try to win my own diamond encrusted Corvaire throttle return spring.

I'll start with an old car...

If you get this one, are we allowed to try it with newer cars?

Wow - so many cars from the 19-teens look alike. I'm going to guess Mercer, possibly a Raceabout. I haven't seen one with wooden coachwork, and the knuckles on the front springs look wrong, but that's my first guess.

I've got a more modern one lined up once you've guess that one. Its a production car made in small numbers but so mind bogglingly unfair I can't wait to post it. hehe.

Hey, why do you think I chose a pre 30s car?  They all look alike to me, so I hoped they'd look alike to you!

Anyhoo... here's the info from the site I found it on.  Interesting stuff...  maybe for your list?
1910 SCAT 22hp wood-bodied speedster. SCAT (Societa Ceirano Automobili Torino) was formed by Giovanni Ceirano at Turin, Italy in 1906. Due to personal losses, Giovanni left the company in 1917 and a French investment group (controlled by Hispano-Suiza) took ownership.

Okay, your try AD...

Here is a more modern concept car.

(Told you he would have more trouble with the brass-era cars. It's Dr. Utz's version of cryptonite.)

Arthur Dent

Brass era cars are hard because they are relatively rarely seen now, huge numbers of manufacturers - most of which made a handful of cars and went out of business.

Otto Puzzell

Hmmm...so I get only one guess? I thought I had three days... ???

Tough crowd! ;D

Fair enough - let's try this next one.

It looks like Volkswagen's 1-litre car, built to run on 1.0 litres of fuel per 100 km.

That's the car. I would have been shocked if you didn't get it. There is just something odd/interesting about that car. Not sure I'd be thrilled to glide around town in it.

Sorry AD - there was a delay and I thought I'd jump in. Your turn.

Arthur Dent

No problem.

Have at it Karn!

Otto Puzzell

Looks like a variation on a Brutsch Rollera. I'll have to do more digging... :)

...must say, I'm enjoying this!  :D

I guess it's because my own ignornance is no longer on display. :P

I don't believe there is any connection to the Brutsch Rollera

roopull

Ah...  but, is there a link between that pic & the 3 wheeler link he posted?  Only time wiill tell..  well, maybe AD will tell, too.

Its a Mink microcar - designed in the UK but built in Bermuda!

Otto Puzzell

OK - I'm batting .333.  :(

Give me another pitch!  :D

I believe that is an Elva Courier Coupe, circa 1964 (appx). For sale, isn't it?

How about this one - somewhat less cruel than the last one - tricky still.
