D-type

Is it from a German-speaking country?
Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

fromwien

Not easy to answer correctly: Partly, yes

D-type

Partly.  Presumably this is a body from one country with an engine from another and the chassis and running gear from one or the other?
So, my next question is:  Has it a German engine?

Wendax

Just to check the obvious impression: Is it a modified Porsche 928?

fromwien

gte4289

Modified in Switzerland?

Oguerrerob

gte4289

Still a front-engined V8, or has there been a drastic mechanical change?

Wendax

Is it still a coupe with covered side windows like panel van? Or is it a roadster with a hardtop?
Hard to tell by the bad quality picture.

Sorry, haven't found any other picture of that car than that. May be your questions could be answered clearly, after anybody found a picture of better quality.

pnegyesi

was it done by a well-known Swiss tuner?

fromwien

I think the man behind the puzzle car won't be happy to be known as a tuner  ;)

Wendax

Anything to do with Frank Rinderknecht's Rinspeed company?

fromwien

Not to know about

pnegyesi

anything to do with Sbarro?

fromwien

Yes! LOCKED for pnegyesi

pnegyesi

Obviously it is missing from the site listing every Sbarro creation :) Is it a mule for the Sbarro Challenger?

fromwien

I hoped, you've found anything about this car anywhere. My source is only an selling ad in Spanish language. And I am not sure about the designations reliability.
Of course, I award you with an point, but let the puzzle running to find the car's designation and more about
