D-type

Surely not a common or garden Austin Seven?

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

So my information says, yes.
I think the same body was used for more than one mechanical base..

Two months since the first post I'm going to bag this.  Its a Pippbrook Ladybird, based on an Austin Seven chassis. Built at Pippbrook garage Dorking probably by Guy Jason Henry not far from Rob Walker's racing team. The garage building now forms part of Dorking Museum.

That is indeed the answer I was looking for, so you've earned your point!

But mystery does seem to surround this car.
Another car with a very similar body (but different around the front) was posted in SAC#868 and was identified as a Ford Falcon Special, and an advertisement for it describing it as exactly that is shown within the thread, although it is clearly not a Falcon shell, as intimated by nicanary, so I've no idea why it was called a Ford Falcon Special. Maybe someone just thought it sounded good!

But the same car I posted was also posted in Barrett's 1002 and was identified by PJ as a Humming Bird, but then that puzzle was merged with SAC#868, which in my opinion it shouldn't have been as it's a different car, based on an Austin 7.
As can be seen from the picture below, my puzzle is the same car as Barrett's, with the same registration number, but a different car from SACO's, with a different registration number.
Perhaps more information has come to light since Barrett's puzzle but I'm going to assume my information is correct, demerge Barrett's puzzle from SACO's and merge my puzzle with his!
