Not immediately. It later received an Alfa Romeo engine, but initially it was a Lancia unit.

gte4289

Was it originally developed for Group 6?

gte4289

Built before 1975?

Paul Jaray

First version was built around 1972, then modified in 1974 and again in 1976. The car here is pictured in 1977.

Did any of these versions compete in the Targa Florio?

nicanary

I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Paul Jaray

No Abarth, AMS or Dallara.

Cobra by Romeo Battistiol?
Beat me to it again!

By the way, it also ran in the Targa Florio in 1974 (#38, driven by Battistiol/"Rousseau") and in 1977 (#38, entered by M. Follari with drivers Follari/Pitarresi, DNF):

Very good!
1 point for fromwien and two pages (from the magazine EpocAuto N.6-2014) for gte4289 and you all!

Thank you very much for the point. I never would have been able to solve this puzzle, without the two hints: Lancia engine and Targa Florio...
At all of the pictures about this car, which I knew before, it wears blue coloured bodywork... and the other body shape....
