Le Mans seems to be even closer to northern coast than western coast. Is Le Mans the circuit?

Thanks, missed that. So a 'National' status rally started and finished at Le Mans and including the surrounding area?

A rallye incorporating the Le Mans track, but starting and ending elsewhere.

That's all I know about that rallye.

The Tour de France could just be called a rally but it was a multi-venue speed event and did visit Le Mans. Is that the event we should study?
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

The car participated in some rallyes before it was transformed into an Aurelia GT lookalike, but I wouldn't call those rallyes well known.
A lot less well known than the TdF then. Will the third picture be posted if ideas run out?

No. I don't know if it helps to find the car, but here is the poster of the rallye the car took part in before the rebuild.

What took you so long to find the right book?  ;D

Yes, it is the Lancia Ardennes rebodied by Lucien Sautenet using an original Aurelia roof and grill by Pininfarina.

BTW, the rallye was the Rallye International Sablé-Solesmes 1954.

Solved Autopuzzle! Excellent and well done. Is there a book with the details? And is there a photo of the car before conversion? Richard

The information was taken from the book "Constructeurs sans Patente 2" by Dominique Pascal.

Here's the car before conversion (#124):

Actually I've found the solution online. I have the aforementioned book but it didn't occur to me that it could be related to this puzzle.

Puzzle for real champions. Me never came the idea Dominique Pascal's book "Constructeurs sans Patente 2" may help solving this puzzle.
Heavy time consuming brilliant puzzle. Congratulation to 'oko94' for the solution

Many thanks, is there any written text in the book to accompany the photographs, or an online link? Richard
