Could be one of a vast number of trials specials of the 1950s, but I'll guess it's a very early Dellow.
Front suspension is Ford or Austin based so I'll say it's powered by a Ford Ten engine.
But now I'm sure that's wrong and it is an early version of "Buttercup" which was powered by a Standard Vanguard engine and which is held to be an inspiration for the TR2 Sportscar.

It is a trials special of coursw, but none of those suggestions is correct. The power source is unusual even for the period.

I have a vague memory of a JAP-engined trials car, but can't name it for the moment. If that's the engine I'll have something to hunt for.

It's not that. The engine is more mainstream but still not a common choice.

LOCKED for gte4289. It is indeed the Jezebel, but not Morris powered. You're on the right lines - it wasn't the usual Ford or Austin motor, but another mainstream maker.

Vauxhall?

Yes. Supercharged to boot. This was near the end for these oddly-designed specialist trials machines which had become too wacky for the authorities. The engines were positioned so far back in the frame that there was this huge gap behind the front axle. New rules for next season resulted in the typical trials car like the Cannon which we still see today.
