Life is boring at Master level! So there is ample of time to create mind-bending puzzles. So here it is: the new version of "Rust never sleeps - Carchitextra"! All you have to do is to find a connection between one of the more or less rusty cars in the first section, one of the pieces of architecture in the second section, and one of the pictures in the Extra section. In order to make it not too easy, there won't always be a direct connection between all three pictures of the right combination. It might be that the architecture might link to the extra because of the location, and the rusty car doesn't link to the architecture, but only to the extra by name similarity. Or the other way around. Just try and find out. I hope this puzzle will last long enough to reach Master level in a few weeks with still many combinations to be found. ;D
One point for each triple combination found, no lock for just identifying a single picture. Have fun!

No interest at expert level. So here is something for the pros confined at home.
Wow, this is a very tough one. I recognise many of the vehicles in the Rust section and can make a second connection in either the Architecture or Extra sections, but trying to find a three-way link is not so easy. Someone needs to kick this Puzzle off though, so here's an attempt, though probably way off beam!
Rust AI: Dutton Sierra
Architecture 2: Ford Sierra production line (model name share, plant possibly Genk, Cologne, Dagenham...)
Extra J: Ford Escort MK 2 (the Dutton's mechanical donor)
As I say, I'm not totally certain if I'm on the right road here, but it's a start!
Yes, this puzzle is meant to be tough, but your first attempt is a good start. As Meat Loaf sang: Two out of three ain't bad.
Rust AI: Dutton Sierra and Architecture 2: Ford Sierra production line belong together, but the Extra Ford Escort will be needed for another combination. Rust AI and Architecture 2 are locked for you.
Thank you for the Lock on the Dutton puzzle, which I will come back to shortly if that's okay (unless it's Extra i, amphibious vehicles that can cross the English Channel, as per Dutton's Surf, Mariner and Reef models?).
In the meantime, I think I might have made another three-way connection now, as follows:
Rust 5: Checker Galva II prototype (a stretched Chevrolet Citation, as pictured below)
Architecture 14: Kalamazoo (home of Checker Motors) Public Library building
Extra g: Stretched Volkswagen Rabbit-based Checker cab prototype

Perfect, except that the building is Kalamazoo City Hall.
Ah, good to have got the first one out of the way, and sorry for mistaking Kalamazoo City Hall as the Public Library.
I'll revised the Dutton trio again shortly, but wonder in the interim if I might have found another connection, so here goes:
Rust 5: Siata SEAT 600 Formichetta, a high-roof Spanish commercial derivative of the Fiat 600
Arch 13: The Spanish Siata factory, based in Taragona
Extra o: Another non-Italian Fiat 600-based derivative; the unique Austrian Steyr-Puch 'Puch S' Spider prototype

I assume that you've identified the Siata Formichetta and just mistyped, as it is Rust X.
Architecture 13 is the Siata Espanola Tarragona Poligon Entrevies factory and it is cconnected to the Siata Formichetta.
Extra o is not the connection I had in mind, although correctly identified.
Rust X and Architecture 13 locked for you.
Oophs, I'm not sure how I managed to mis-type Rust X as 5! Anyway, thanks for the second Lock.
I've now got a bit too hooked into this puzzle (when I should be doing some work!), but here's another attempt:
Rust E: The electric JS6 version of the Ligier JS9 vsp, as used by the pioneering (but failed) CW (City Wheels) car sharing scheme in Coventry in the late 1980s. A surviving example of the CW JS6 can be found today at the excellent Coventry Transport Museum
Arch 11: Coventry's distinctive 'Elephant' building, reflecting the English 'motor' city's historic elephant mascot on the Coventry coat of arms.
Extra aj: The EasyMile EZ10 autonomous vehicle, developed by Ligier and presented on its stand at the Paris Salon a few years ago.

Oh silly me, it was staring me in the face all along! The third element of this Siata link must be Extra l (L), an AVIA/EBRO van, with EBRO taking over Siata Espanola and production of certain ex-Siata commercial vehicle models (SEAT 850 Minivan etc.) in 1972.

Sorry to disappoint you. The Avia-Siata link is one I wasn't aware of, so it isn't the link I am looking for.

Oh, that's a blow as there is a direct Siata-AVIA-EBRO connection. Here's an EBRO branded ex-Siata SEAT 850 Minivan below, plus the Siata original, with an AVIA badged version also sold in Spain.
So, is Extra d (D) the missing link, a Siata panel van?

OK, I think I've got the missing Extra link now for the Dutton Sierra. It is of course Extra v, which is the USA-market 1970 special edition Renault 10 Sierra, which obviously shares it name with the Dutton kit car. Phew, that's a relief as I really do now need to do some work! Oh, and I can't seen to remove this text from this 'quote' background area, hence it appearing in bold!!

I'll try one that seems easy to me (as a 'Murican), the 'Indy Trio':
Rust T - Harroun Model A-1 (by Ray Harroun, winner of the first Indy 500)

Well, I take the 144 as a typo, as it is a 114 F. Another one solved.
Time to attempt another one that I think I've worked out. So..
English private prep schools and student car building projects are the connections here, as follows;
Rust AG: The Mini-based Silcoates Ascender 3-wheeler, made by students at Silcoates School (as below), under the tuition of Silcoates lecturer Les Brown (an authority on British specials, with a Specials book to his name, plus his excellent Rochdale cars book)
Arch 17: This one took some finding as it looked like a typical Yorkshire school, but hundreds to choose from! I've finally narrowed it down to Silcoates School in Wakefield, where Les Brown worked.
Extra m: This is the Abbey Cat, another prep school student car build project, created at the respected Whitley Academy in Coventry for the old 'BP Build A Car' competition for educational institutions.
A perfect answer! Another one gone.

I'm thinking Extra AG could be the final piece, as it resembles a number of cars produced in Indianapolis in the mid-1920s. If AG is the correct 'extra' component, is it a Marmon?

Arch 35: Acer Inc.'s head office in New Taipei City, Taiwan
Extra ad: A Luxgen S3-based 'Acer' self-driving prototype

I'm going to have to ask questions on this one, so feel free to unlock it whenever you deem appropriate.

Architecture 1 - Soldiers and Sailors Monument (in Indianapolis, Indiana)
Extra B - As-yet unidentified Indy 500 racer (front-wheel-drive car circa 1928?)

Even more tenuous this time, a star connection?;
Rust F: a Star Nestor 18/50 from the late 1920s
Arch 24: the Museo Nestor museum in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
Extra u: a Ford Vedette (vedette meaning 'star' in French) this version being the base Abeille model with a split opening tailgate and removable rear seats
Rust F and Architecture 24 are correct and belong to each other, but they are looking for another Extra (hint: again only connected to one of these two).

I noticed that Wendax hadn't Locked this one when all the other 2-answer puzzles had been locked, so I assume this was an oversight as it seems a little unfair otherwise ;)

Yes, I forgot to add the lock in the correct answers table which I rectified now.
Ah, thank you Wendax. I've taken a day's break from this puzzle today as the research was eating into my time too much when I should have been doing some work, but I'll revisit it again over the weekend. Thanks again.

A basic 'everyday' connection for this one:
Rust AC: Simca Aronde Quotidienne, the 'low-cost' entry-level version of the popular French model, added to the range in 1953
Arch 6: Musee d'Histoire de la Vie Quotidienne (the Museum of Daily Life), based at Petit-Caux in Normandy. I visited this charming town many years ago (before the digital camera age, so it was quite some time back) when I briefly owned a Panhard 24 CT and joined up with a French P&L Club for a local treasure hunt. Somewhere I have an old printed photo of my Panhard parked there, but it will take some finding!
Next U: the French Ford Abeille, a stripped down basic version of the Vedette, aimed at farmers, commercial tradesmen, etc, and built in the same Poissy factory as the Aronde which Simca acquired when it took over the French Ford SAF operations and production plant. The Poissy plant still exists today as part of the PSA Groupe, now building Citroen C3s, etc.

Architecture 9 and Extra f do match, but I need a more precise reason. Rust AA isn't part of the combination.
Architect I: Falkenhausen House.
The Falkenhausen family is so extensive that it is impossible to follow the history of all those cited on the Internet. The most quoted is General Alexander von Falkenhausen who was appointed Governor of Belgium by Hitler during WWII but I do not see his relationship with Czescoslovensko. Related to the automotive industry was another Alex von Falkenhausen who was a racer and manager of the BMW racing team until the late 1940s. He then founded his own brand AFM and after 1953 returned to BMW.
Sorry, you misunderstood me.
Architecture 10 (Schloss Falkenhausen) is not connected to Rust Z (Avia 350), but to another Rust and another Extra.
Rust Z and Extra l are connected to each other and to a different Architecture (not Architecture 10).
Your search about the Falkenhausen family was a good one. Follow that lead and try to find a suitable match in Rust and/or Extra.
Ok I´ve left Falkenhausen House allready, so try another place:

Willlys-Overland/Durant/Flint connections: A number of automotive assets passed through the hands of John Willlys, including the Overland Automotive Division of Standard Wheel Company (subsequently renamed '
Willys–Overland Motor Company'), the Duesenberg Motors Company plant in Elizabeth, New Jersey (later sold to William C.
Durant and used to produce 'Star' brand of automobiles) and the Chrysler Six prototype (also sold to
Durant and reworked to become the '
Flint' automobile).
Rust P is a 1913 Willys-Overland 69T, but is needed for another combination.

C. Le Roitelet cyclecar - 19: Goldcrest Views 2 in Dubai, UAE - j: Ford Escort Mk2 Goldcrest
Connection: Roitelet is the French word for kinglet, a family of birds which includes the goldcrest.

It seems people once believed kinglets and wrens were the same, and so several languages have words for wren and kinglet which are either very similar or are used interchangeably. Well found! I am not that good in ornithology, but I was referring to the
Regulus regulus, which omniscient Wikipedia calls goldcrest in English and

By the way, this is the first time I've participated in a multi-car puzzle and I'm not familiar with the generally accepted practices. There is a general AP rule against simultaneously asking more than one question about the subject car in an individual-car puzzle (which makes very good sense to me). However, whenever someone has created multiple individual-car puzzles, it has always been acceptable to simultaneously ask questions about each of the different cars in their respective threads (which makes just as much sense to me). In the present scenario, with multiple cars in one thread, is it acceptable to simultaneously ask questions about the different cars? In other words, is it 'one question at a time per thread' or 'one question at a time per car'? Thanks!

It depends on the puzzle creator. I have limited the number of answers per day in group puzzles before in order to avoid a sudden solution of the whole puzzle, especially when the puzzle was moved from expert to pro level. But that wasn't necessary this time, so fell free to attack different tasks at a time.

BTW, all locks lifted for the last remaining combinations.

Thank you for this one Wendax, but please don't be too quick putting another Puzzle together like this one any time soon as it was far too time consuming, which is why I withdrew from it as it was encroaching on my work too much! Only joking; well done, and keep 'em coming :)
I should add that I can't confirm that the rusty AFM remains really belong to an AFM.
