Title: solved - als072 - Orlandi Scoiattolo & Astore
Post by: als15 on December 23, 2012, 07:50:01 AM
Only one point for this two busses... To give it, I need the name of the coachbuilder (same for both) and what arethe two tractors are.
For the first one I'm not 100% sure that the caption I have is correct...

My first post..
Vincenzo Orlandi from Modena, the trailer in front is named Scoiattolo and the one in the back is named Astore
The tractor units are a rebodied american jeep and a Fiat 626.
Like you I am not so sure about the rebodied jeep.

Vincenzo Orlandi is not from Modena...

However (sorry if I ask, but it's usual with new members), how do you know? Which is your source?

Sorry,
My mistake, I had Renzo Orlandi in mind.

Yes, but these vehicles are indeed made by Vincenzo Orlandi (which is actually from Brescia).

However, to award you the point, I need to know how did you found it?
Is just to be sure that you have been fair according to our rules...  :)

That's the right source!
A well deserved first point!

Sorry for having asked, but it was a hard one and you were so fast that I suspected you using Google Image Search (which is strictly forbidden here)...  ;)

Original picture here, and an open question: can some Jeep expert confirm that the first tractor is indeed a Jeep (yes, there is a badge on the bonnet) and not a bigger vehicle (e.g. an American Army pickup)?

I can confirm now that the tractor unit is indeed a Jeep.I found an article in Auto Italiana (N.21, Dec. 1947) with a description of the Scoiattolo trailer.
