It was a scale model, it seems!
In Geoff Hacker's site are shown one of the designers, Svend Aage Mathiesen and manager F. Gabrielsen with the puzzle car in theyr hands...

Or I'm wrong, and the translation mixed the surnames. Confirmed, there were three names involved

I decided to moved it to solved, because the three surnames are written in the Fromwien answer.

The car was designed by Copenhagen civil engineers Svend Aage Mathiesen and Otto Ahlmann-Olsen.  And the company's director Frode Gabrielsen.
