Post by: thorax on March 10, 2020, 01:32:25 PM
of this car I only know from which model it derives and the year in which it was presented: for a point I would like to know who designed it, from which model it derives, in which year and where it was presented

It's a Fiat 500 C modified by a not known coachbuilder, shown at Pincio Concourse of Elegance of Rome..I suppose in 1954.

not in 1954 .. but you are on the right way: locked for you, I need the name of the coachbuilder (that I don't know)

1952?....The source where I found this car doesn't mention the designer/coachbuilder.  I found it very similar to the Lucciola by Francis Lombardi, built from 1956 on Fiat 600 base, but I have no proof about it.

Quite strange... Fiat 500 C has been built between 1949 and 1955. It's possible that this car has been shown at 1956 Concourse, but it would mean that it was an old car.
I dare say it is possible that this car has been coachbuilt by Carrozzeria Mantelli that in 1957 realized a 4 doors Fiat 600.

it's strange for me too: the photo, as you rightly said, was taken in Rome at the Pincio Elegance Competition after the Fiat 500 C went out of production. From the photo it is not possible to understand if the badge corresponds to that of the Carrozzeria Mantelli

It's unbelieveble, but this car still exists....I got this pictures from a group I take part in, but at the moment I haven't been able to speak with its owner who might obviously know who's the coachbuilder who did it.

I've received the information from one of the most reliable expert about Fiat 500 Topolino;  the car is under restauration near Macerata, it's a creation of Carrozzeria Marini from Rome; it's plate number was Rome 269497.   We met this coachbuilder for another puzzle about a modified Fiat 600.

I think that is a sort of miracle: never imagine that this car still exist.
Do you have more pictures? A photo where I can see the emblem? Locked for you (surely you gain a point but I need a proof about Carrozzeria Marini )
The original picture:

I don't have that picture...but I can post you a photo of the documents of the car with the inscription "Sostituita la carrozzeria originale tipo giardinetta con carrozzeria 4 porte tetto trasformabile costruita dalla ditta Marini Umberto, Via Sabazio". I Think it should be enough!

The base car was a 1953 500C Belvedere and the original plate was Rome 151365.

Thank you, I can add a story inside the story....The car was originally a 500C Belvedere, than Marini transformed it in this 4 doors car....and in 1957 he modified again it obtaining the quiz car.  I don't know why the car changed plate number, perhaps the plate had gone lost...anyway it's absolutely the same car!

Concorso d'Eleganza al Pincio (Rome 1952 or 1954)
Are you sure it's the same car?

Sure...as you can see on the document I posted, the quiz car before having the plate Rome 269497, had the plate Rome 151365 that you can see on this picture!
