Waiting for the driver.

For one point, please respond and identify this car.

Looks like either Paul Vallee's Chantecler or its near-twin by Pierre Brissonnet, but either solution seems too simple for AutoPuzzles. I guess I'll go with Vallee and see where this leads...

Paul Vallee Chantecler?

As easy as that: it is a P. Vallée Chantecler. I was surprised to see that it didn't appear as a puzzle before, and surprised to see no rookie having a go at it as well.

Correct! Please be so kind and tell me the production year, then the point will be yours!

According to the 1997 auction catalogue, the example in the photo dates from 1957. The auction catalogue and various other sources state that they were produced between 1956 an 1957, but the more recent, wonderful book on Ydral engines by Catherine-Sophie Bouillard states that the Chantecler went on sale in October 1955. Somewhat different prototype versions having first appeared at the Paris Salon in 1952.
