Also the icon for your favorites or bookmarks.  They are properly called a favicon.

Anyone notice it?

Is it working on your computer?

Do you like it?

Should I change it?

Enquiring minds.....

Looks good.

However, it works on the front page, but not here.

In my computer, it works on every page.  I use Firefox.

What browser do you use?

The very same.

I wonder if this is a cache issue then.

???

Does it show up under your bookmarks?

Works on my machine (firefox). Didn't appear in my bookmarks until I first  clicked on the bookmark link, now it's there.

As for the actual look, it looks fine, but sort of generic. I wouldn't mentally associate it with Autopuzzles if I didn't already know that was our logo. How about some stylized version of "AP", or maybe a shadowy car overlayed on a question mark?

Or we can keep it as is. It's all good.  :)

Anyone want to offer up some good icon examples?

Truthfully, I don't think it translates well down to 16x16 pixels.   I attached it so you could see what I mean.

I was liking this idea:

Well, I thought it rocked!  ;D

I'll try the car / Question Mark. Stand by...

The car needs to be bigger and the other background stuff becomes extraneous when shrunk down to size.

Well then. I submit that an icon that is recognizable as a car and question mark, which is no larger than 16 x 16 pixels, is impossible to create and / or not worth the effort.

And if it can be created, since it won't be the logo, I don't believe the "mental association with AutoPuzzles" objective can be met, either.

I tried to create one also.   I failed miserably.  Yours are much better than mine.

I like the icon we have.  If anyone were to look at, for example, Autoweek, their icon doesn't lead one to think of AW without having familiarity with the icon first..  Besides, the blue piece fits with the red one just like a puzzle piece.

I had this vision in my head of a car under a partially pulled-back cover, stood on its end, next to a stylized question mark. My thinking was the car would look like an "A" in side profile, and the question mark would look like a "P".  I'm none too good with graphic design, and I'm not too confident it will work at 16X16 anyway, but I'll take a stab at something over the weekend.

The Autopuzzles "Flying V" is now appearing in the section headers on my computer. Progress!

BTW, how exactly do you do those, and can you do them for your favorites page bookmarks on your own computer?

They are not alterable within your computer.  The website has to be programmed to have one and load it when you load the site.

Thanks for the link, way over my head when I read it, except to note that unless I'm a webmaster (only of spiderwebs) I can't implement them, which is fine.............
