So now the header for the Expert board should read "Solve 400 puzzles to become a Pro" !

Right you are!

Some more observant members will notice a major change today - a new classification to be known as Masters. This is for members with 750 points or more and they are now restricted to that section.

This will open up the puzzles presently in the Pros section to puzzlers who otherwise may have been deterred by the excellence of the Masters. Hopefully it will make life more interesting for many members.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I understand the logic behind this decision, but as far as I am concerned it's ruining the game.

Oh and I can still post replies in the Pro section so something went wrong when this change got applied.

Edit : actually I can post replies in every section... is it supposed to be a Master privilege or is it a bug ?

Wendax

You could reply in every section before. Otherwise you couldn't answer your own puzzles.

Just to clarify, can any AP Member post responses into the new Masters section, or just the Master with 750+ points?

Also, where has the old (and mostly ignored) other one page mystery car section gone that used to sit to the right of the BH (I can't recall what it was called)?

Thank you.
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

The Pro and Feature Writers Puzzles have been moved to the new Masters board.

The Black Hole puzzles are now a sub-category of the new Masters board.

Any members can reply in the Masters section - for now :)

As long as you are not logged in, the Masters board does not appear at the Index Page. Is that intended? Does the board show up for experts and rookies?

I'm logged in and this is what I see (no Masters, Pro and Feature Writers, or Black Hole):

I have changed the access to the board now. Please try again!

As a non-moderating user, I have never been able to post comments in a section below my status (except for my own puzzles). I just checked and I still cannot do so even after the change.

My own Rookie puzzle vs that of someone else:

Thank you, after Wendax's answer I thought I had lost my mind ! I'm pretty sure I was in the same situation as gte4289 before becoming a Master.

Sorry, as an editor with all permissions it is sometimes not that easy to find out (or remember) what is allowed for whom.

What troubles me a bit is the fact that the "Masters" are not a group of its own, but an inherited group of the "Regular Members" group.
Oko, could you please try to start a topic at Masters level. Looking at the permissions I am in doubt that it will work.

oko94

The "New Topic" button has disappeared from the Rookie, Expert, Pro, Master and Black Hole sections. However I'm allowed to start a topic in the Solved section

Wendax

That's what I feared. Houston, we have a problem!

nicanary

New Topic is there for me in all categories.

And now?

I have also introduced a new logo to Masters and changed the logo of Editors. What do you think?

I have changed the board permissions for Masters. It should work now. Please try again, oko!

I can't reply in Pro section, the button is gone

For some reason I missed this until now! For some time I have not been able to post in the Rookies section apart from in threads I started. Having hung on to low status as long as I could I was surprised that I can still answer in the Experts' section - but having "Feature Writer" status would account for that so I shall just have to obey the rules myself.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

That's intended. You are a Master now. Pro puzzles are out of your reach just as expert or rookie puzzles.
