It was not unusual to update these low-mileage well-kept hearses or upgrade them right from the start. I have seen one done by Rappold myself (see below), but yours looks less elegant, so it might have been done by a less known coachbuilder.

Hi guys,

i hope that it is also allowed to ask for information about a coachbuilder - as in this case the car is quiiiiite obvious.

On the dogleg, right under the co-drivers door (between the front wheel and the hinge of the passenger door in the rear) - a badge is more or less visible.
Does anyone recognize it?

As the lettering on the door tells, the car was used for a business in 6651 Häselgehr, Tyrol - Austria.
But as some boarders are within reach, i would say it is possible that the bus was even converted in another country (Germany, Swiss, maybe even Italy?).

Any help would be highly appreciated. I have seen many Volkswagen Transporters from the 1950ies modified by different coachbuilders - but i have never seen this oval badge pictured above. Of course it is also possible, that it is just the badge of the car dealer..

I remember seeing a second picture of the very same bus (same licence plate), with a round and white badge on the co-drivers dogleg. If i find it, i will add it here too.

Another try. No single search ever gave the least bit of infomation about this teardrop thing. No Talbot-Lago or whatsoever. I mean, it might not be old either. Look at the wheels. They show there might be something modern under the skin. The buses in the distance point the scenery is somewhere in Eastern Europe. Any guess?
