Maybe sending a pm, will let us know

Carnut

I was in touch with him and pleased to say he is well.
He's been extremely busy at work since returning from his holiday and is doing a lot of overtime.
But he and his wife (or partner?) are expecting a baby in a few weeks and any time he has at home he is preparing for this big event!
I'm sure most of you know what's involved with getting the room ready and buying clothes and push-chairs and all the paraphernalia that goes with a baby!
We wish him luck and look forward to his return once he has a little time.

Great news ! I just hope his forthcoming baby will allow him to connect to Autopuzzles from time to time as he has quite a lot of puzzles to revive.

I will send my early congratulations and wish el_monty and his family all the very best. Come back soon please, and don't forget to teach your child some quality Brummie.

It's a relief for us to know he's OK. And a non-relief for him, because the extra hours of work at the job and at home. but it's very satisfying to do that for a baby. Congrats!! Best wishes!!

Tomorrow I will be heading towards France for summer vacation. No new puzzles and probably only slow answers for the next three weeks.

Hello my fellow Autopuzzlers!

I'm back. I appreciate all your comments of concern and support in this thread. My baby has not been born yet (still two or three weeks to go) but everything is on track now. As I explained to Carnut, my holidays in April were only a couple of weeks but when I returned home I was blindsided by the realisation that there was a huge amount of stuff that needed to be done before the baby came and that I had not paid proper attention to, both at work (projects in which my part needed to be finished before I went away on paternity leave) and, especially, at home. The last three months (three months already?! :o) have been a whirlwind of long hours at the office and my spare time being completely taken up by a myriad preparations, shopping trips, painting walls and building Ikea furniture, prenatal and childcare lessons, etc., as well as frequent and tedious rehabilitation sessions for a painful bursitis in my right shoulder which I started to suffer from at the start of the year, just as my wife and I learnt that we had a child on the way (The two events are not related! ;D) and which has been slow to get better, as these things often are.

Now it is all done! The baby room is ready, chock full of clothes, plush toys, diapers and the like, and the pain in my shoulder is all but gone; my last rehab session was last Friday. I realise that the middle of the summer might not be the best time to make my comeback, as many members will be away on holiday, but that's how it has worked out! Today I will start to review all the replies to my puzzles that were left unsolved, and once that is done I will be ready to post new puzzles. I have no idea if I will be able to keep it up after the baby is born though! On the one hand, you know, a new little person around the house will take up a fair chunk of my time; on the other, I will be on leave and babies are supposed to sleep a lot so I'm guessing that may give me some spare time too..? Anyway, we'll see how it plays as we go. Right now, I'm going to start hitting those threads!

Welcome back. Babies do indeed sleep a lot, but never when it's convenient for you. I wouldn't change that for the world.

Welcome back, and enjoy your child!! (when he'll or she'll arrive)

Hello all. Just a brief note to let my fellow Autopuzzlers that my son was born last Saturday. He's in excellent health and I am a proud and happy father.  :) :)
Though he obviously takes up a good chunk of my day, I will continue to have ample time to play in the coming weeks. The only nag is that I am away from home. For complicated reasons that I will not go into, the birth has taken place in another city, and we will stay here for a little while. This means I don't have access to my picture collection, and therefore will hardly be able to post new puzzles for the time being. But I will keep replying to my existing puzzles (and attempt to solve others, if I can!

No puzzles or responses from me for the next week.

I will be very busy with work commitments over the next few days. If I can log in, it will be later in the evenings. Please bear with me. (not that I've got many puzzles unsolved at the moment!)

I'm going away on holiday from tomorrow until the 18th of august so I will be slow to answer the next three weeks. I only have three active puzzles now I think so please be patient if you're trying to solve any one of them.
