All,

As I was yesterday, I will be at an all-day business conference today through Thursday, and will not be able to respond to all puzzle guesses in a timely fashion. I didn't return home until 10:00 PM last night, and expect more of the same.

Thank you for your patience. Keep puzzling among yourselves, and smoke 'em if you got 'em.

For the first time, I own my own apartment (yay!) and today I finally got a web connection of my own, so I won't have to 'borrow' from my neighbours' open connections (which can be painstakingly slow at times). Therefore, I haven't got around to answering any questions that might have been asked here for the past few days - but now I'm back!

Glad to have you back.

This month is shaping up to be the busiest month ever for this site.  Please keep visiting and posting boys and girls.  It is helping us to grow.

Welcome back @re, you gave us a break!  :D
Ultra, that is by far the best site I've ever been, and the only one (car-related) I've got an account in! I'm looking forward to contribute with much more effort!

Useful thread. Thank you for launching it, Otto.
While we're at it, I will be away until Friday and unable to anwer. Be patient, my whaddyacallit friends, and your patience shall be rewarded in the end.

@re

I'll be away from Friday through Monday. After that, I have some days off work, at home, so I'll get back to moving some puzzles from Rookie to Expert and some from Expert to Pro. And I'll probably throw in a couple of new ones, although I don't expect them to last long with the new guys we've got on the site... it really raises the bar for posting new puzzles. Nice going, fellas!

I'm still around tomorrow, then off and away for about 10 days. I hope to see many of mine solved by then, but be patient for the points and answers, guys.

@re

I'm leaving home now, going away for the weekend and won't be back until Sunday evening - which means I won't reply to any of your guesses until then.

Have a nice weekend!

You too - happy travels!

The upcoming time it will be hard for me to reply timely to your post (some of you will highly appreciate that!  ;D)
Please be patient, will try to look after it at least once in two days!

@re

I'm leaving for London on Monday evening on a quick Christmas shopping trip. There I'll also be picking up my own, very expensive and sought-after example of the complete Beaulieu Encyclopedia. Maybe I'll be a dangerous man after that, or maybe everything will just be boring... who knows? :)

I'm also going to retrieve some other stuff that I've bought, which hopefully will let me post some real obscure puzzles here in the future.

Oh, and I'm going to see Coldplay at the O2 Arena. That'll be nice, too ;D

Just letting you know. Will be back on Wednesday evening to answer any questions that you might have asked about my puzzles.

OK than...I'm moving all my puzzles now!
BTW @re it's incredible, on the 11th of December I bought from Alibris  "my own, very expensive and sought-after example of the complete Beaulieu Encyclopedia" , the 3-volume set...they are going to ship it in weeks!

Allemano

Oh man, you all soooo hip!

Ultra

One day, in the not too distant future, this site will be just as important to the rare auto connoisseur as the Beaulieu Encyclopedia.

You heard it here first.

Thanks Otto!

Apologisizes for that, but presumably till the end of February I'll be able to answer comments only at weekends.

I'm having moderately reduced access to the internet for an indeterminable amount of time, so any replies of mine might be slow by any number of days, please have patience. Thanks all.

I posted an answer on one puzzle on January 15th.  The poser of the puzzle has not yet said whether it is right or wrong.  That was three weeks ago!
I accept that there are circumstances where people have to be away from the forum.  Can I suggest that when this happens they advise a moderator or one of the regulars and ask them to keep a watching brief on their puzzles.  Otherwise the whole purpose of the site is defeated.

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Anyone knows anything about the absence of @re?
He was last active at January 26. Unusual for him. No infos about it on this topic.

I got an e-mail from him this morning. He's OK, but working almost around the clock these days. It seems that might let up a bit after this week, but, for now, he has almost no time to spend here..

He seems to be VERY busy...
