Where are the rookies these days?

I posted a new puzzle yesterday and it shows 21 views and not one guess, easy though a few of the answers are.
There seem to be only about 5 active rookies, but there are 6 pages of puzzles, some dating back a couple of months.
If the supply of rookies is drying up, perhaps some of these older puzzles should be promoted - some of us only leave them for a couple of weeks before doing that, but others . . .

FWIW, traffic throughout the site has been quite light in the last week. As our members are likely traveling or spending the holidays with their families, I'd guess our site becomes a lower priority. Also, I think a lot of members access the site trough their computers at work. If their offices are closed for the holidays, they have less-ready access to the fun and games here.

I'd guess things will pick up next week.

As to aged puzzles, I agree that the aged rookie puzzles should be promoted if their are no recent guesses. Perhaps I'll put on my admin's hat and take a whack at some promotions.

Well, that didn't go well.

It seems I can't please anyone - perhaps a wiser man should assume my admin duties.  :P

Christmas time might not be a good time to measure the visiting rate for this site... ;)

Normally, the rookie drought isn't so precarious, is it?

Reviving this thread from two years ago to say that once again we have some six pages of Rookie puzzles, and some have been there for nine months withour a new guess (or any guess in most cases).
Might be time to suggest that the authors move a few older puzzles up to Expert level.

Hear, hear!

I've bumped the Page 6 puzzles. If their owners don't reply, I'll move them.
