Title: Where are the female puzzlers?
Post by: Carnut on January 28, 2011, 11:48:48 AM
These days with women being on an equal footing nearly everywhere and us being told that apart from the obvious physical differences they are just the same as us guys (yeah, right...) and with a scandal this week in the UK about football commentators being rude about female match officials, it occurred to me - is there one single woman (and I don't mean an unmarried one!) on AutoPuzzles?

All those members and we are all blokes?  Isn't there even one woman out there who is an expert or even interested in rare cars?

If there is - please make yourself known - we will have huge respect for you!

Never forget Beverly Rae Kimes. She was the master of automotive history.

There are a few signed up that I know of but all of them except one or two were personal acquaintances of mine who signed on here to access attachments.

We once had an aussie girl, name of helen m, with a nice avatar too:

She posted 45 posts, earned a few points, and posted a few puzzle of her own.

Come back, helen!

I tried to persuade a car-mad friend of mine to sign up - don't know if she has yet though....

I'm confident we will have a new female member.
She will have a huge library to look into, but she will not join us before several years...  ;D

Congratulations PJ.
Hope you have better luck than I had - I have 3 kids and none of them are remotely interested!
Grandson shows promise though...!

My youngest daughter is very interested in cars (perhaps an AutoPuzzles candidate in the future)
Congratulations PJ and I hope she'll follow your passion in due course.

Do we have a female member?

I see our latest member is mollymhoon and her email address is molly@... so I figure she must be a lady!

You are very welcome on AutoPuzzles and we look forward to your contributions very much.

Crikey and another!
Welcome to debora.
We go all this time without any ladies then get 2 in 2 days.
Look forward to having you on board.

We very much look forward to her contributions!

I don't think they joined to solve puzzles. I recall two of our female puzzle members joined to inform us about important details on cars their relatives built. It was very helpful, but don't expect 'em to solve Brazilian one-offs any time soon :)
