What do you guys think?
-
I think it looks dandy. I did notice the Logo skewed to the right, when viewed from a smaller monitor at work.
-
Let me know if the logo still skews.
-
Still unusual for me, but looks good, although all the additional smilies are gone now...
-
I always wanted to ask where is a featured pro puzzle ;)
Nevertheless, looks fine. Good work!

Don't want to spoil the party, but to be honest I not completely agree with the new design. The layout of the front page isn't quite balanced so far, some of the frames aren't alligned and the 'solved puzzled index' seems a little 'lost' under the big picture at the left.
The letters of the "Est. 2006" logo should be more 'bold'.
(Maybe it also depends on the browser I'm using – I don't know)
Apart from that everything's fine. ;)
-
Since I never enter from the front page, I found it hard to get as even the "home" button doesn't lead there.
For the same reason I can't remember what it looked like before, so can't comment on improvements.
-
Like Allan, I never enter from there, but I remember the old one.
The old one seemed to be more focused on the Puzzle area and the articles, pictures and other sections, looked like some extras.
This new layout seems to put it all at the same level, but I still think that the core of this place are the Puzzles...
All in all it looks fine!

Goodness me, I'd never think of that!

Even more improvements.

Many new updates. Looking good!!!!
-
much better, but still not perfect... ;)

I'm new here and I don't know how it was before, but honestly I'm not into this design. I don't want to sound rude or something, for the record, just saying what I think. :)
The "solved puzzles" images are far too little compared to the others, probably a full size gif or something would be better if you want to show more than one car, but I think maintaining the same size is very important.
Other than that, the layout is a bit fuzzy, and doesn't really give you the idea of such a large and deep forum if you click on them.
To be completely honest, and not wanting to offend anyone, it's a bit amateurish.
That said, I came here trough google and landing directly on one of the pages from the forum, so I can't really give an idea of what the homepage told me the first time I came here.
Probably the fact that the single areas are not aligned spoils the rest, and the ad/link in the middle just interrupt the whole deal, it would be better positioned at the bottom of the list.
My 2 humble Italian cents, I liek the forum and that's what it's important :D.

I think it is somewhere between extra spiffy and way cool! :applause:

Hey Ultra,
Looks good to me! I, too, don't enter through the main page ... so I wouldn't have noticed the change if you hadn't pointed it out......

I really like it. Nice and functional and highlighting threads with photos is great.
-
For myself, who always comes in the front door, I think it is especially helpful to people who are just stopping by occasionally, because it highlights what is to be found inside and invites them in. I have seen several stories and photo essays featured that I was completely unaware of. Newbies don't like to troll through a new site to discover what is of interest to them. But this captures their attention and lets them know what to expect from the moment they first sign on.
Very clever and smart marketing, say I. :-*

I prefer the new look. I find it easier to get to where I want to be.
Re the Italian Junkyard's comment about the picture sizes in the Solved section: That only applies if you go to the Compendium; if you look at the actual post there is the whole thread including the picture in its original size. You can get straight there from the Compendium?
