https://www.deautogids.nl/merk/Polski%20FIAT/6054

After the Polish Fiat importer already made cars under license from Fiat as Polski-FIAT before the Second World War, it was unable to renew this license after the war.

In the 1950s, FSO was founded and initially made the Warszawa. Later it developed its own wares, the Syrena.

The new Polski-FIAT resulted from a licensing agreement between Fiat and FSO. they built on the basis of the Fiat 125, but with engines from the Fiat 1300 and 1500. After the license agreement with FSO expired, the name Polski FIAT was no longer allowed to be used and the switch was simply made to FSO.

Another factory, FSM, would make the smaller Fiat 126 from 1975. However, the FSM-built Fiats continued to use the Polski-Fiat name until 2000.

I think del78 meant whether Polski Fiat 125p or 126p. My vote is on the 126p

First it was an in-house project in Bielsko Biala, with Fiat 126p wheels, headlights and door handles. Later it was handed over to PIMOT.
