The earliest of the two magazine articles I found was published in 1955.

By the way, don't bother trying to pin down the name of this particular truck; the name of the builder will suffice. While the magazines each assign their own nickname, the only official name (as far as I am aware) is that of the builder, which appears on a badge affixed to the truck's nose. There were similar vehicles by this same builder and each wore the same badge.

That's it!

The articles appeared in Hot Rod Magazine (Jan 1955) and Rod & Custom (Nov 1956). It could not have been built prior to 1949 because it contains 1949 components ('49 Chevy alternator). Likewise, it couldn't have been built after 1944 because the Hot Rod article appeared in the January 1955 issue, which would have been published in December 1954 and photographed/written/edited/etc a month or more prior.

The children in the image below are Everett McClelland's son and daughter. His son posted comments and photos to a custom car website a while back. Based on his son's posts and the other information I could pull together, I believe the three trucks shown in these photos are all that McClelland built.
