Modern designers, take note: There's nothing new about rubber-band tyres on huge shiny wheels. Probably the same ride quality too. >:(

Is it European? French, for example?

Wendax

European, but not French

It was built in Sicily to Al Capone's rough drawing on a piece of parchment (don't ask), then exported to the USA, where this photo was taken of the car and Mr Capone standing proudly alongside it. The car consisted of a strong chassis, powerful engine, racing tyres and lots of hidden compartments. These were to be packed with illegal booze. He would have entered it in long distance races, where the plan was for his driver to make a few 'drops' along the way. Of course there was no chance of winning, but Mr Capone had thought of that too. The judges were to have been bribed to pronounce the car the winner, even if it failed to finish. Sadly for Mr Capone, his syphilitic brain hadn't allowed for the fact that there were no long distance races in the USA, so the car was instead turned into the final resting place of several of Mr Capone's enemies, these unfortunates being suitably sectioned and parceled for convenience by Mr Capone's friends in the meat packing trade. It was then pushed into the foundations of the under-construction Chicago Temple Building, as the concrete was being poured. It is alleged that two of the construction team who were unwilling to allow the car to be incorporated into the structure of the building disappeared at this time. Few know that the Temple Building is a few millimetres off perpendicular. This whole story may not be true.

I'm pretty sure it's not an Opel project. There were others at that time, but I can't find one which looks like this!

Is it the work of Max Valier ?

Not Opel and not Max Valier, still locked.
