IFA-Karosseriewerk Halle W 80 ?
Almost there. One digit is missing in the number and please add what the W stands for. Locked for you.

Looking more attentively at the drawing, I read W 180 (or 480 ?).

But I wonder about the meaning of the W. Is it Werk ? Karosseriewerk was already mentioned. Wartburg ? Wartburg is known fort its cars. Or Werdau ? I'm puzzled, as I don't find much info about Karosseriewerk Halle.

Wendax

W 180 is correct. The W has the same meaning as in IFA W 50 or the W 500 bus. ;)

So, W stands for "Werdau" ?

Wendax

Yes, that's it. The development of the W 180 came to a sudden end when the Comecon decided in 1956 that there would be no more large trucks and buses to be produced in the GDR. As the Werdau factories were already renamed from Lowa to IFA Kraftfahrzeugwerk Ernst Grube in 1952, the W 180 would have been an IFA.

A short lesson of history.  Thanks !
