I dunno. The proprietor took a lot of grief last year for slow updates after races. As many of the fans there have stated, the site is completely free, a labor of love - much like another automotive-themed website we know and love - so I give them their props and a lot of slack.

It would be a shame if they don't get it running again.

I think the delay is because they don't know how to rank the teams in this crapshoot year.

In light of my shoddy showing last year, and the unavailability of the site for now, riddle me this: Is it possible to carry over cars, drivers and budgets from one season to the next?

I don't believe so. When they reset for the new year, they delete the accounts...(at least that is what happened last year)

I'm flummoxed, then. How is it that with the tiny stipend available at the beginning of the year, some folks start off with WDC's, Ferraris, etc?

I think there was an issue last year with some people essentially hacking the game, finding glitches in the database or what have you and cheating their way to better equipment. There was a thread about it on the discussion board. Hopefully they've locked things down a bit tighter. And hopefully the game administration will be a little more timely this time around... I know it's free, but there were a few times last year where I thought the admins had bailed on the whole enterprise and left things on autopilot.

I'm in. Not sure what it's about, but I'm always in :D

And while we're at net games, why don't you guys take a look at BATracer? I've been playing every day for the last three years and am not bored yet :)

There are around 20 different racing series now - F1 1986/1997/1999/2002/2005-2009, LMS, A1GP, ChampCar/IRL, BTCC, club racing, V8 Supercars and others. 111,000 players as of today, of which I guess about 10% play regularly.
