Identify this car and earn a point:
Cool!
Can experts identify it?
I believe it is a kit car that was called the Amante.
Not an Amante.
Can Pro's help sending this one to the solved section?
I have my eyes on this for a while, but have no idea...
Palms suggest a southern country.. Is it from South America?
It´s an Alfa Romeo from 1968?
It is indeed based on an Alfa Romeo! I have another very-close-to-your-1968 year for when it was build.
I still need to know on what Alfa it was based + who was responsible for the body.
Locked for you for the next 24 hours.

Lombardi is too big?
I think Lombardi was (a lot) bigger, because it is a lot better known.
And yes, it is from 1967

I did a quick Google search for this specific car but was not able to find it on the net (which is by no means a guarantee that it is not 'out there' somewhere).
However, other creations from this coachbuilder can be easily found on internet.
From Rome?
Not from Rome.
Carrozzeria Caprera?
Not Caprera.
shot in the dark: Autotecnica?
Not Autotecnica.
Ellena?
Lesser known than Francis Lombardi, Caprera and Ellena.
Sibona & Basano?
Neri & Bonacini?
and the answer is?
(apologies - couldn't resist this breathtaking response!)
Just a tad lesser known than Sibona & Bassano and Neri & Bonacini
Drogo? ???
Not Drogo.
In business for only a short period of years?
Active for a long period
Marazzi?
Pavesi?
Not Marazzi
Not Pavesi
Scaglietti?
ASA?
Not a Scaglietti nor ASA
I will give it almost away now, but you must think a bit more out of the box.
The closest out of the box answers until know were Pavesi and Marazzi.
Out of the box means normally focused on other vehicles like buses or hearses?

I told you that with my previous post, I practically gave the answer away.

Introzzi?

Define 'passenger'
Not a hearse, a bus, a lorry, transporter, racing or utility vehicle. Suitable for your daily drive.

In that case, I have no knowledge of other passenger cars build by this carrozzeria (which is no guarantee there weren't any!!)
Not Borsani
Grazia?
Bonfanti?
I came across another company called Allegritta or Allagritta (not sure of the spelling without some more research)
Not Grazia, not Bonfanti and I never heard of Allegritta or Allagritta.
Did they build Alfa Romeo based "non-passenger-cars"?
BTW: your "give away reply" seems to be a bit of a nonstarter... :lmao:
Okay - last try for today - Giordanengo
AFAIK, Giovanni Giordanengo is operating in a total different business as the carrozzeria I'm after.
Also not sure Giordanengo was already active in 1967.
This is the only Alfa Romeo I know (And I know a lot, but still not all, of them ;-) that was bodied by this firm.
But I still have some special bodied Romeo's from whom I don't know the creator, so you never know.
BRAKING NEWS: I found pictures of the car on the internet!
A very nice car it seems! :)
Okay, let's start again.. this company was not very well known, but was more famous for other vehicles, right?
Are these other vehicles Fiat based?
I knew it was a kind of gold! ;D And there is another picture of this car on internet! ( The one I saved :-[ )
No more excuses NOT to find the car. I have now found 4 sources on the web that are talking about this car.
3 of them have the above mentioned 3 pics, and a 4th website has this picture:
In certain business, this company is very well known.
Some, but not all cars they made were Fiat based.
Wow, what a great looking car!
Is it the bus business we're talking about?
Alfa Romeo Giulia, Carrozzeria Casale 1967. it took part in Concorso di Eleganza di Cortina 1967
:applause: That's the one
(@ Allemano : sorry I missed your last post. By now, you probably discovered that Casale was active in the hearse business)
Casale was taken over in 2002 by Pilato. It is not clear to me if the company and or brand name are still active today.
And can an admin move it to the solved instead of news, information and feedback section...
:noid:
The common source gives a production year of probably 1966...
And another source mentions the year 1965...
Does "Severtail" mean something like fastback?
sever = to cut, so i'd guess it was more like a Kamm tail, i.e abruptly cut-off
It's also been severed or hidden in every photo. :D
