Strangely invisible when I posted it. My apologies nonetheless.
Not a Condor
I believe the old and historical Minerva made a "autoscoot" type car, which could be this. A long shot though
No relation to Minerva ;)
Was it built in a big city, like Brussels?
Less than 1000 inhabitants ;)
Wallonia or Flanders?
Flanders
Powered by a motorcycle engine?
Yes, indeed!
250 cc engine or less/more?
You decide, here's a picture of the very bike it was made out of ;)
Do you have the information from a Belgian site? I know it is not about the car, but I am trying to gather as many info as possible.
Happy hunting in the .be domain ;)
That's a Sarolea motorcycle, right?
It isn't mentioned in the source, but I'm convinced it is one, indeed.
The reason this car was built is a very sad one.
Down in the hole..
Did someone died on the motorcycle?
Yes, his wife died on the motorcycle.
I spent a lot of time with this one. Is the page still around where you found this one?
Yes, this one is still out there to be found. Here's a photo of the workshop where it was built
Village lies less than 100 km from Brussels?
144 km, according to Google maps :)
Famous for its beach?

Famous for its beach?
A beach in Belgium that is famous in your country? I never thought I would read this... the wonders of the world wide web...
Not in my country, generally...
20 km from the beach....
Lame question I know, but does the village's name start with an L?
No it's one of the other 25 :D
Pollinkhove?

Avekapelle, then?
Alveringem is 10 km closer to the truth
Abele?
Yes!
I hoped that it would get me closer to the solution, but am stuck again... :-\
If you have a year for this: was it built in the 1940s?
Not in the 1940's.
50s, then?
Yes, although I don't think this will lead you to the solution
So, I guess the info is again hidden in an old news article or something like that... :-\
Wish me luck! ;)
The information is digitally available on the web, but somehow Google hasn't picked up on it. Even if you know his full name you won't get a useful result. But this way I found out his nickname was "Pot" and there is a (co-)pilot in the Belgian historic Rally scene with exactly the same name, driving an all time classic.
This must be one of the most elaborate hints in autopuzzles history :D
Stéphane Prevot?
Tom De Geetere?
None of the above
Daniël Defever???
:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:
O0 We have a winner! O0
Blacksmith and mechanic Daniel Defever constructed this car from the remains of his motorcycle after an accident in which his wife died. The photograph is dated 1952.
Well done Amsterdam! (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g106/pan1968/Gifs/party2.gif)
This one was freaking me out!
:cheer: I gave up on this one some time ago, But the nickname hint plus location and rally co pilot did the trick. Without that not a chance. So thanks for the help.
And Guido you are right. even with the name nothing on the car pops up.
Upcoming Rare Car of the Week!
 :drink:
It seems there were a couple of such one-off cars built in the early 1950s in Belgium. A 1952 report claims that "pontoon"-bodied American cars were the template in the exterior styling. These microcars featured 150-250 cc engines.
