This is one one of my favorites.
It´s the Lancia Flaminia based 1960 LORAYMO by the famous industrial designer Raymond Loewy.
It´s odd and weird in some details, but some details have been far ahead of its time.

Again: Of course you're right. Strange front, nice rear - although to me it to some extent screams "MAZDA" :)

His rear-ends were fine; it seems to be the fronts he really struggled with..
In my opinion, Loewy's strength - in the automotive realm - was recognizing and channeling the talent of other designers. Projects he did mostly on his own tended toward eccentric works like this one.

Like the Loewy BMW 507, the Loraymo is quite baroque in comparison to his better known designs he was able to sell to the industry.
I see both as creations that blasted out of his "creative wastegate", they just had to unearth and come true.

A perfectly fitting phrase: "creative wastegate". I just wonder how many innocents were harmed in the creation of that thing.
