Given the middle headlight, I'd be inclined to think it was a Tucker of some sort ... but I've been wrong before :(.

There was only one sort of Tucker built, and that was THE Tucker. No, sorry.

Very nice pics. The interesting thing is that in the initial pictures the Haller Taifun has German license plates (I guess it is a German-built car), while in the photos posted yesterday it obviously has been taken over to America.

I have a picture of the Haller Taifun, taken by a dutch tourist during his holiday in Austria. He spotted the car in the 1950s and he sent this picture to a classic car magazine in the 1980s to ask readers if they could identify the car for him. I will look it up.

What's this and who made it for one point?

It's the Haller Taifun Supercharged Porsche  Special from 1952-3, designed by Rudolph Haller

It is indeed. I had not expected it to be guessed that fast. One point for you.  :)

Some pictures of the Haller Taifun turned up at an online auction. The car had lost its front bumper, the Perspex roof and its name plates by then. The license plate seems to be that of the US Forces in Germany.
