KAZ-604B prototype.

"In 1960, a small Kutaisi Automobile Plant (KAZ) named after Ordzhonikidze Georgian SSR made some developments for the army. It was a compact 4.5-tonne KAZ-604B (8x8) with closely spaced drive axles of front and rear bogies, the extended cab from a tractor KAZ-606A and a metal-wood flatbed body with tarpaulin. It was equipped with a 150-horsepower V8 petrol engine from ZIL-130 with a manual transmission. The main features were an airborne transmission with two-stage experimental drives and all wheel independent suspension from armored vehicles. The base between the centers of all bogies is 3200 mm, an overall length is 6400 mm, and a maximum speed is 85 kph."
