Very interesting picture and puzzle. This car must be one of the three Maja-race-cars built by Ferdinand Porsche in 1907, with a usual gearbox and gearlever nearside the driver instead of the unreliable gearbox developed by Mr. Diamant.

I just felt unhappy about the reversed puzzle photo, which mislead me a lot. Attached is a picture of the car at the Semmering hillclimb-race 1907. Don't the rules say to post picture only the correct way round?
