Do you happen to have a better picture, that show,s alittle more?
I have two photos that clearly show the entire car. I was planning to use one of these for the puzzle, but they were both so highly susceptible to reverse-image search, even after considerable manipulation, that I decided to go with the cropped version you see here.
I'll give it another try this evening, and if I can manipulate one of the full images so that it's at least somewhat difficult find with a reverse search, I'll post it.

Partly American. Build date unknown, but sometime after the 1960s.
[Edit: Not American]

I gave it a try, but I can only provide a peek at another portion of the car. (Disregard the background/location.)

It looks like a concept car 1960s?
Built sometime after the 1960s; my guess would be 1970s.
I don't know why it was built or by whom. Some sources suggest it was built for a particular purpose, but I'm not convinced.

Space Dragon, USA, seventies, built on a shortened VW bug chassis

Space Dragon, based on a shortened 1970 VW Beetle chassis is correct, so a point for you!
I'm not 100% positive, but I strongly suspect it was built in the UK since it's RHD and was found/purchased in the UK. One source labels its country of origin as "USA" and says it's "rumored" to have been built for a James Bond film, but I've found no evidence to support either of those claims.
