It's a La Dawri Firestar mk2 from about 1959. The body was designed to fit Metropolitan/Sprite/ Fiat/ Crosley etc chasses.

Or perhaps it is not. It is probably the original Ralph Starkweather Special for which he designed his own tubular chassis. It was a Crosley powered class H racer and bore a remarkable similarity to the Lotus 11. La Dawri bought Starkweather's molds and offered the body as the Firestar 2,
