The 1960 MG Mini, one of two prototypes.
The more I consider the nature of speed, the more mysterious I find it.

Carnut

Crikey, I'd never even heard of it until today and you know the answer already!
Very good...

I guess the license plate helped a lot.  ;)

Lavrakas

I fear it did. I wouldn't have got it otherwise.
Incidentally, there was talk about a two-seater convertible MG Mini; does anyone know anything about it?

What's the "M-Type" bit of the thread title?
This is the MG M-Type we knew (and owned!):
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

I usually paint out the registration but I decided not to this time; not sure why - I think just to make it look just like an ordinary British Mini...  That'll teach me.

No idea what the "M-Type" means but it's what they seem to call it wherever it's pictured.

I think the other MG Mini Lavrakas is referring to is the ADO34 MG prototype.  It still exists and I believe was sold at an auction a couple of years ago.  Strangely it hasn't been puzzled here, which is why I haven't included a picture of it now.

It's what the decal says.

Thanks!  I did wonder what that said but hadn't got around to blowing up the size of the picture yet!
Apparently the car was to be a sort of cross between a Riley Elf with relatively luxurious interior but minus the little boot and a Mini-Cooper with the 1275S engine.

No, I was wrong, what was auctioned a couple of years ago was EX234, which has been puzzled here.
