This is interesting. I actually had this photograph listed as showing the mysterious 'Austin Seven Humming Bird'.
This car is, for some reason, the subject of much conjecture. Several experts claim the Humming Bird never existed, and it became a sort of in-joke among Austin Seven special afficianados, almost like Moby Dick, with people occasionally claiminf they'd "found a Humming Bird".
Nevertheless, the car was definitely advertised and most likely built, at Pipbrook Garage in Dorking, but there is no further evidence of it than that. This photograph purports to show one, but since I posted it all that time ago I have discovered the advertisements for the 'Ford Falcon' special which clearly show the same car. I'm now of the opinion that the original photogrpah of the 'Humming Bird' is another prank by an Austin Seven enthusiast who was in on the joke....!
Nevertheless, I'm going to give Paul Jaray an extra point for discovering the (contested identity)
