It's not a de Dion. although to be honest there were an awfuil lot of makes with alligator bonnets in those days. This one is very limited production.

Malicet et Blin only made a few cars - they mostly manufactured engines and other parts to supply to other car makers.

Yes, I remember when we did the VCC Dating on that car we had a long debate about whether M & B ever produced cars in their own name. Nick Georgano, in the Beaulieu Encyclopaedia, gives them an entry but only refers to the two cars which were in the VCC list - this one and an unDated 1897 vis-a-vis.

I did wonder whether it was considered a Malicet et Blin simply because that name was stamped on some components. I don't suppose we'll ever know. I pity VCC scrutineers - there's nobody still alive who can provide testimony.
