Please describe the vehicle as accurately as possible and earn one point.
-
up
-
Hansa 12/60 TypA6, 1928 ?
-
Sorry, no Hansa.
-
Wanderer 8/40 ?
-
Also not.
-
Adler Favorit 1931 Taxi, by Wendler ?
-
No. :shakehead:
-
USA ?
-
No.
-
Elite ?
-
No.
-
Is it German as most are assuming?
-
..........up to now, only those wheels have dissuaded me from guessing Adler.
-
@ FrontMan: Then stick to it, because it's not an Adler.
@ D-type: Exactly the right question! It is not a german vehicle.
-
:taz:
-
An early Volvo?
-
Yes, and locked for you to find the missing details.
-
:applause:
-
Our FrontMan is already a very fair player :hail:
-
Volvo PV652 PersonVagn ("passenger car"), 6 cylinders, 5 seats, 2nd version from 1930-1933
-
With the PV 652 you are very close...
-
PV651 then?
-
;)
-
PV 651: No.
-
Is it a PV 650 then?
-
It is not a PV 650. Two more tries for you.
-
Please unlock. I can't identify it beyond the PV650-651-652 series. The PV653 etc had a sloping radiator.
Could it be the prototype PV650?
-
Why is everyone in this puzzle biting the wrong ideas? "It is not a PV 650". I unlock at the request of a single gentleman...
-
The later PV4 from 1928
-
You don't have to go back quite that far.
-
"D" has forged the blade. The taximeter suggests that this is the long-wheelbase version of the PV series. IF it has a glass partition it could be a TR673. :P I seek not the honour of a point, but the autopuzzles holy grail.....a 'sichel-Bee'. ;D
-
Hhmm, Hhmm :sigh: what do i do now? 'FrontMan', your tip for 'D-type' is spot on, but it is not a TR673. I'm going to try an unorthodox experiment: Locked for "D-type' and 'FrontMan'. Whoever solves the puzzle gets the point, the other gets the 'fairness sichel-bee'.
-
:hyper:
-
Well, the taxi was in two versions, the TR S (Stad = town) and TR L (Landsort = country) which became the TR671 and
TR672 respectively. So my next guess is the TR S.
-
Sorry "D", neither TR S nor TR671.
-
TR674 ?
-
Less would be more.
-
....as in TR672 ?
-
No, there's not much left now...
-
All I can think of is 'TR L' as all the others appear to have been guessed.
-
Sorry, but it is neither a "S" nor a "L".
-
....TR670 ?
-
Yes, it is a TR 670. Now all that is missing is the coachbuilder and the production period.
-
1930 to 1934, some say only 88 examples were produced. So far, I can't find the coachbuilder, but here's a wild guess;.....Gustaf Nordberg of Stockholm :nerves:
-
I'll guess at Gripkarosser
-
Neither Nordberg nor Grip. Search on...
-
...are we to continue looking for a Swedish coachbuilder?
-
No.
-
How about Norway? ;D.....Schroder of Trondheim. Perhaps the fellow behind the wheel is Karl Aspo, for whom it was built?
-
How do you know norwegian taxi operators from the 1930s? You're not that old yet ;) Yes, it is a taxi, built by Schrøder for Karl M. Aspø.
One point for you  and a 'fairness sichel-bee' for "D-type".
