The selection 1942 or 1943 can be accepted. My source mentions 1943 as the year of manufacture, but the Steyr 640 was only built until 1941... I have not yet been able to clarify this contradiction.
The Hamburg professional fire brigade took over ambulance transport in 1945, but without an adequate vehicle fleet. Therefore, vehicles had to be converted into ambulances and this probably included the puzzle vehicle, which was taken over from the Wehrmacht and after conversion by the 'Hamburg Professional Fire Brigade in 1946, it was put into service as an ambulance at the 'Hamburg Professional Fire Brigade'.
I can't tell you whether the chassis was built by the WKF.
