"Such a cozy interior," thought Frau Horsthoff, "I could fit in my weekly shop quite easily!" She would speak to Herr Horsthoff (Ingenieur) tonight about getting her one of these dear little cars. She had no idea of the terrible reaction Herr Horsthoff would have. "Three wheels!" he shouted, "Thats bad enough, but the third wheel is AT THE FRONT! Do you have no understanding of the inherent instability of such a layout? Over my dead body will you have such a thing!" Frau Horsthoff began to wonder how this could be arranged.

That's the one! Unfortunately that's all the information that came along with the picture in a book of mine. So I can't say whether it was a one-off or part of a small series.
-
I know Krause and yes, it's German, but weren't they on one side of the border? Well, fuzzy language :)
-
It's such a professional looking job, I'm amazed it's not appeared anywhere else. Would you tell us the book it was in?
-
The book is "Automobile Moden - eine Automobil-Designgeschichte" (Automotive Fashion - a car design history), which is a catalog of an exhibition at the Focke Museum in Bremen. The article in which this photo appears was written by Ulrich Kubisch, head of transport department at the Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin.
-
The picture was taken in 1954.
-
Sounds like an interesting book
-
Some nice pictures (the most interesting for me was the Krause car), but rather aimed at the general public.
-
Excellent, Thanks very much.
-
Ulrich Kubisch has now retired

This picture appeared on the cover of Der Deutsche Strassenverkehr, Nr 1955
..
Lange: 2400 mm, Breite: 1100 mm, Höhe: 1400 mm
