D-type

The base car is pretty obvious.  Please tell me:  What this particular version is?  Where it was modified (Country)?  When?

Jaguar D-Type, chassis no. XKD 526 from 1955. One of three D-Types exported to Australia. Purchased in 1959 by Leaton Motors in Sydney and converted to 3.8 litres. Frank Matich, a salesman at Leaton, drove the car in races. In order to be able to use the car in GT races, it was fitted with an aluminium hardtop in 1961.
